On October 8–9, the 2nd Gathering of Target Students of the TITAN-2 Holding was held in Sosnovy Bor, Leningrad Region. It brought together 51 target students from leading universities in the country. Among them were seven students from Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
The program of the gathering allowed participants to get acquainted with the work of the holding company and the features of the future profession. Students visited the construction site of the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant (LAES-2), the museum of the company “TITAN-2,” and the workshop of LLC “TITAN TECHNOLOGY PIPELINE,” attended a lecture on the company’s activities, and participated in training sessions on personal efficiency and public speaking.
In addition, the students interacted with the heads of key departments of the holding company and analyzed typical situations faced by young professionals at the start of their careers. This format helped the participants better understand the employer’s requirements and the tasks they will need to solve in practice.
At the business game “Simply Building the Complex,” guests had the chance to try their hand as engineers. In two and a half hours, teams assembled a Rube Goldberg machine – a device that performs a simple task through a chain of sequential actions (the “domino principle”). Participants had to demonstrate creative and engineering thinking, allocate tasks, and collaboratively find solutions. The winners received prizes.
“We are always happy about such fruitful cooperation with our partners. TITAN-2 regularly holds events for its target students and prepares them for work in the nuclear industry from the very beginning of their studies, including inviting them to its sites. For our students, this is a unique opportunity to understand what awaits them at the workplace even during their studies, and for the company, it’s a chance to develop a specialist tailored to its tasks and corporate culture. We believe that this experience deserves attention and replication. TITAN-2 is a reliable partner of our university. The holding regularly sends relevant job openings for students and graduates to the university. You can learn more about employment opportunities from us,” said the director of the Career Center at SPbGASU. Yulia Konstantinova.
