Moscow, April 17 /Xin Hua/ — The Russian state corporation “Rosatom” is building a new plant for the production of radiopharmaceuticals in Obninsk, with the launch of the first production lines planned for the end of 2026. This was reported on Friday by the industry publication “Country Rosatom.”
According to the CEO of the corporation Alexey Lirachev, the plant will become the largest in Europe; two production lines for drugs based on actinium-225 and radium-223 have already been assembled. The enterprise will operate at full capacity by the end of 2028, and with the launch of the “Rosatom” radiopharmaceutical product line, about 20 new products will appear.
Radio-pharmaceuticals are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, primarily oncological ones.
