The P.I. Tchaikovsky Museum in Moscow invites you to the concert “‘Life Lived Not in Vain…’. Alexander Grechaninov.”

The composer’s legacy includes over a thousand works: operas, symphonies, chamber music, romances, and sacred compositions. The uniqueness of A.T. Grechaninov largely lies in the fusion of the two main compositional traditions of Russia — Moscow and St. Petersburg.

In Moscow, he studied under Sergey Taneyev, in Petersburg — under Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The master spent most of his life in Russia, but in 1925 he moved to Paris, and in 1939 — to the USA. Nevertheless, the composer never lost his spiritual and personal ties with his homeland.

The concert’s title is taken from his book “My Life.” The program will feature romances, chamber instrumental compositions, and excerpts from the opera “Dobrynya Nikitich.”

Performers — the S.N. Knushevitsky Trio consisting of Vera Iofe (piano), Anastasia Nikopolskaya (violin), Danila Vladyko (cello), as well as students, graduates, and teachers of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.

Duration — 80 minutes without an intermission.
