Robotic surgery has become an integral part of the Moscow healthcare system. Thanks to the high precision and minimal invasiveness of such interventions, doctors can perform operations that were previously considered extremely complex. Patients recover faster afterwards and return to their normal lives. This was said on his channel in in the “Max” messenger wrote Sergey Sobyanin.

“We are consistently developing high-tech medicine, constantly implementing advanced

treatment methods into the daily practice of city hospitals and make modern medical care more accessible to patients,” the Mayor of Moscow said.

Over five years the volume robotic operations In Moscow, it has increased fourfold. In the first six months of 2026 alone, doctors performed more than 2,500 such interventions — which is 29 percent higher than the figure for the same period last year.

Robotic technologies are used in various fields of medicine: oncology, general surgery, traumatology, orthopedics, obstetrics, and gynecology. They are also in demand for complex surgeries where high precision of the surgeon’s movements and the ability to work in hard-to-reach areas are important. At the same time, the final decision on all the key stages of the operation always remains with the doctor.

“Today, surgeries utilizing robotic systems are available in 10 Moscow hospitals. For example, robotic technologies are also used in spinal surgery. At the City Clinical Hospital No. 67 named after L.A. Vorokhobov, state-of-the-art operating rooms equipped with a robotic complex help doctors perform complex spinal interventions,” noted the Mayor of Moscow.

The capital continues to expand the range of capabilities and list of technologies. Recently, at City Clinical Hospital No. 31 named after Academician G.M. Savelyeva, hip joint endoprosthetics with the help of a fully automatic robotic system was mastered for the first time in Russia. This technique is now being introduced in other Moscow hospitals as well.

To find out how the capital has changed in recent years, what initiatives currently being implemented to make the lives of city residents even more comfortable, and what awaits Moscow and its inhabitants in the near future, you can in a large-scale
