During a working visit to the Republic of Congo, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak met with the President of the Republic, Denis Sassou-Nguesso.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation on a wide range of issues, including cooperation in the energy, trade and economic, financial and banking sectors, industrial and transport fields.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the attention that the head of the Republic of Congo gives to the Russia–Africa format, reflecting the realities and requirements of dynamically developing Russian-African interaction and contributing to the strengthening of genuine strategic relations. Also among the important mechanisms for the development of bilateral cooperation, Alexander Novak noted the work within the framework of the Mixed Intergovernmental Commission on economic, scientific-technical cooperation and trade, which allows for a comprehensive discussion of key issues on the trade and economic agenda between Russia and Congo.
“Russian-Congolese contacts are regular in nature, which emphasizes the high level of partnership between our states. There is enormous potential for further development of relations between Russia and the Republic of Congo in the most diverse directions – from economy and trade to education, healthcare, science, and culture. I am confident that today’s meeting will become another step towards deepening our strategic partnership,” noted Alexander Novak.
During a working visit to the Republic of Congo, the Deputy Prime Minister held negotiations with the Prime Minister of the Republic, Anatole Collinet Makosso, during which they discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in trade and economic interaction and cooperation in the social sphere.
