Since the beginning of the year, 13 new residential complexes have begun construction in the Eastern Administrative District (EAD) as part of renovation programs. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“The eastern part of the capital ranks first in the number of old houses included in the renovation program — there are more than a thousand here. In the Eastern Administrative Okrug, 87 modern new buildings have already been erected, and in 2026 the Moscow Renovation Fund began construction of 13 more buildings. One new house is being built in eight districts of the okrug, three residential complexes are being erected in Izmaylovo, and two in Golyanovo. In total, almost four thousand apartments with an area of more than 238 thousand square meters are planned in them. Each residential complex is built according to an individual design, which renews the architectural environment of the districts — modern residential quarters are replacing standard development,” said Vladimir Yefimov.
Entrances in new buildings will be made multifunctional and convenient. They will feature spacious lobbies, concierge rooms, places for storing baby strollers and bicycles, as well as non-residential premises for social and household infrastructure facilities. All spaces will be built according to barrier-free environment principles — without thresholds and steps. Courtyard areas will be landscaped and improved, equipped with playgrounds for children, sports zones, and rest areas.
Building permits for houses were issued by State Construction Supervision Committee of the city of Moscow (Mosgosstroynadzor).
“The construction of new buildings is under the control of the Moscow City State Construction Supervision Committee. Monitoring and supervisory programs have been developed for all sites. Inspectors have already conducted more than 10 on-site inspections in total, during which they assessed the quality of the structures being built and the materials used. The work of the specialists of ‘Moscow Control’ guarantees that the constructed buildings comply with the requirements of the project documentation and technical regulations,” noted the chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor.
The houses will be connected to individual heating units, equipped with modern elevators, fire protection systems, and reliable engineering equipment.
In areas where new buildings are being constructed, social, utility, and transport infrastructure are well developed. Near the houses, there are city transport stops, metro stations, shops, medical and educational institutions, as well as parks and squares.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 houses. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin instructed to increase the pace of the program’s implementation in twice. The Mayor of Moscow also said that almost 120 families will move into the new building constructed under the renovation program at Kavkaz Boulevard.
More than 1,300 old houses have been completely vacated as part of the renovation programSince the beginning of the year, 49 sites have been freed up in the capital for construction under the renovation program
