At the Moscow Polytechnic University, training has begun under the professional retraining program for members of the patriotic club “City of Heroes Moscow” project “Youth of Moscow“.”

The initiative is timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of the Moscow People’s Militia. This underscores the connection between generations and the continuity of traditions of serving the Fatherland. Today, members of the patriotic club continue their service in peaceful life—through education, implementation of patriotic projects, and work with youth.

“Our heroes are starting a new phase today — a period of study and professional growth. The program in state and municipal administration will provide them with tools to implement patriotic projects and work with youth. We are proud to be alongside them and help them move forward,” noted Margarita Savinkina, head of the ‘Youth of Moscow’ project.

The first group consisted of 10 members of the patriotic club. Among them were teachers, combat veterans, participants of the special military operation (SMO), recipients of the Orders of Courage and Medals for Bravery, leaders of military-patriotic clubs, sports rehabilitation specialists, military intelligence officers, political technologists, and representatives of the Cossacks. Many were awarded for their demonstrated courage and bravery.

Training for members of the patriotic club will be conducted in the field of “State and Municipal Management.” Participants will study the basics of state and municipal management, state economic regulation, constitutional and administrative law, the tax and budget system, business communication ethics and negotiation rules, as well as public-private partnership.

“Moscow Polytechnic University offers more than 400 continuing education programs for upgrading the qualifications of specialists at various levels. Participants of the special military operation have a unique experience: they know how to take responsibility and make decisions in difficult situations. Our task is to provide them with the tools to apply these skills in managing and developing the country. The program helps to connect accumulated experience with new knowledge so that veterans can confidently transition to current tasks and grow as leaders,” emphasized Anton Nazarenko, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Moscow Polytechnic University.

Participant of the SVO and the patriotic club “City of Heroes Moscow” Ivan Chenin shared that the educational program provides an opportunity to study more deeply the functioning of government bodies, modern management methods, and ways of interacting with the population, as well as to master digital tools and project activity skills. According to him, the course will help to correlate existing experience with new approaches and apply them more confidently in future work. Ivan plans to use the acquired knowledge in projects related to the development of the urban environment, support for youth initiatives, and improvement of communication between government representatives and residents.

Graduates of the professional retraining program will know how to develop urban projects, organize work with youth organizations and patriotic clubs. Moreover, they will be able to interact with government authorities and partners, as well as participate in making management decisions aimed at involving the younger generation in the public life of the city.

Combat veteran and participant in the Special Military Operation Konstantin Romanov said that education not only broadens one’s horizons but also helps to make new acquaintances. According to him, it is an opportunity to express oneself and later provide assistance based on life experience and knowledge. The skills acquired can be applied in case a difficult situation arises — this makes studying purposeful.

The activities of the patriotic club “City of Heroes Moscow” are aimed at involving participants and their families in city events and implementing patriotic projects. Thus, combat veterans regularly conduct sports training sessions, workshops on practical skills for young Muscovites, and also become guests at open meetings.

“Youth of Moscow. City of Heroes” is a branch of the “Youth of Moscow” project, whose activities are aimed at helping the younger generation feel a living connection with heroes of different times and involve them in patriotic and volunteer activities, as well as in promoting the preservation of historical memory.
