Beijing, October 9 /Xinhua/ — On Friday, a meeting was held in Beijing dedicated to studying the first and second volumes of the selected works of General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping on culture.
Member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, Li Shulei, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
These two volumes were published in August by the publishing house “Zhongyang Wenxian Publishing House.”
Participants of the meeting noted that these selected works systematically present the core spirit, main content, and key demands of Xi Jinping’s thoughts on culture and serve as authoritative study materials for in-depth learning of these ideas and applying them in practice.
In their opinion, when studying collections of statements, it is important to consciously study and apply in practice Xi Jinping’s ideas in the field of culture and better fulfill the cultural mission of the new era.
Participants in the event called for efforts to gain a deeper understanding of Xi Jinping’s ideas on culture both as fundamental guiding principles in propaganda-ideological work and cultural work in the new era, and as a strategic vision for transforming China into a powerful cultural nation. They also strongly urged efforts to translate the study outcomes of these ideas into concrete actions.
The meeting organized by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee was attended by responsible persons from relevant central agencies, central propaganda and cultural bodies, propaganda departments of CPC committees of provincial-level administrative units, as well as experts and scholars in the field of social sciences.
The two volumes include 78 of Xi Jinping’s most important and fundamental works on cultural development, on which he worked from November 2012 to February 2026. Among them are reports, speeches, addresses, correspondence, and instructions.
Xi Jinping’s ideas in the field of culture were officially presented at the National Conference on Propaganda, Ideological Work, and Cultural Work, which took place in October 2023. -0-
