The plot of this eponymous novel by Henry Rider Haggard about the conquest of Mexico by Spanish conquistadors in the 16th century served as rich material for the creation of a historical musical, authored by composer Roman Ignatyev and playwright Zhanna Zherder.

Viewers will see the exciting adventures of the heroes in different parts of the world, battles between the militant Aztecs and the conquering conquistadors — and, of course, will empathize with the thrilling and unpredictable love story.

The novel by Henry Rider Haggard was read with great interest as early as the beginning of the 20th century, but unlike the author’s other works, “The Daughter of Montezuma” was neither adapted into a film nor had a stage history. The Moscow Operetta Theatre has for the first time transformed the adventure novel into a musical, and modern theatrical technologies have made it vivid and visually rich.

Director — Zhanna Zherder.

Starring: Anastasia Karkhanova, Vladislav Tokarev, Maksim Katyrev, Svetlana Krinitskaya, Maksim Novikov, and others.
