Washington, April 17 /Xinhua/ — US President Donald Trump allowed on Thursday that he would visit Pakistan if a peace deal is reached between the US and Iran, which would end the conflict that has lasted for several weeks.
“Yes, I would go to Pakistan,” he told journalists at the White House. “If the agreement is signed in Islamabad, I might possibly go there.”
He also said that the sides will likely resume face-to-face negotiations soon.
“Apparently, we will conclude an agreement with Iran, and it will be a good agreement, one in which there will be no place for nuclear weapons,” said D. Trump. “We have many common positions with Iran.”
According to him, it may not be necessary to extend the ceasefire, which expires next week.
Meanwhile, the president denied reports that the United States intends to seek a 20-year suspension of Iran’s uranium enrichment.
D. Trump also reported that Tehran “agreed to hand over to us nuclear dust on a place located deep underground due to attacks we carried out using B-2 bombers,” referring to Iran’s enriched uranium.
However, he repeated the threat to resume bombings in case of negotiation failure.
“If there is no agreement, hostilities will resume,” said D. Trump.
