On October 5, during a working visit to the city of Naryan-Mar (Nenets Autonomous Okrug), a delegation from the State University of Management held a working meeting with representatives of the regional telephone and internet service operator, the State Unitary Enterprise of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug “Nenets Company of Electrocommunication” (NkES), as well as with the head of the municipal formation “Urban settlement ‘Working settlement of Seekers'” Ivan Egorov, the chairman of the settlement Council, and the heads of subordinate institutions.
From the university, the event was attended by the Deputy Rector of GUU Maria Karelina, the Head of the Scientific Research Coordination Department Maksim Pletnyov, and the Deputy Director of the Center for Space Research, Unmanned and Radio-Electronic Technologies Dmitry Nikitin.
Following the meeting, the parties decided to conclude a cooperation agreement between the municipality and GUU. The Iskateli work settlement will become a pilot region where the first modular control package based on artificial intelligence, developed by GUU scientists, will be implemented.
The module is designed to automate the monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization of communication networks and ensure stable internet access. Its key idea is not just to respond to failures, but to predict them, eliminate them, and suggest optimal settings.
To study the practical work of the NKES company in the region, the meeting participants visited one of its facilities – a repeater (communication tower) that provides internet and uninterrupted communication between settlements, including in remote areas of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
We discussed cooperation issues with NkES director Vladislav Peskov, the development of communications in the district, the implementation of digital services for residents, and ways to overcome existing infrastructure problems in the Arctic zone.
