Washington, April 15 /Sin Hua/ — The extension of the current ceasefire regime between the USA and Iran “does not correspond to reality at the moment.” This was announced on Wednesday at a briefing by White House press secretary Karoline Livitt.
According to her, the administration of Donald Trump looks with optimism at the ongoing negotiations that may lead to an agreement capable of ending the war, which has been continuing for several weeks.
The press secretary did not confirm when negotiations with Iran will resume, but noted that if they take place, it will be in Pakistan, as the previous round, held in recent weeks.
US President D. Trump stated on Tuesday that another round of American-Iranian negotiations “may take place within the next two days” in Pakistan. Earlier on Wednesday, he also said that the American-Israeli war with Iran is “close to completion,” without giving specific timeframes.
The two-week ceasefire expires next week. –0–
