In the courtyards and public spaces of Moscow, complexes are appearing where you can not only work out on individual exercise machines but also go through entire obstacle courses: performing exercises for strength, endurance, coordination, and balance.

For example, specialists urban infrastructure complex they created a large sports cluster with such equipment on Architect Vlasov Street in the Lomonosovsky district. One of its central elements became the specialized obstacle course “Russian Ninja.” It was integrated into a unified space along with workout areas, running tracks, basketball and mini-football courts, as well as pull-up bars and parallel bars. Additionally, boxing bags were hung there and tables for table tennis were installed.

The obstacle course allows you to structure a workout differently than on a regular workout ground. Instead of repeating exercises on one apparatus, you can sequentially go through several elements, engaging different muscle groups and simultaneously training coordination.

A similar principle is also used when creating playgrounds for children. For example, on Zagorodnoye Highway in the Donskoy district, an obstacle course for kids has been set up among wooden elements. Nearby are developmental panels, swings, and other play structures.

Children’s and adult complexes are designed for different levels of intensity, but they share one approach: visitors do not stay at one apparatus, but sequentially go through the route. Such obstacle courses expand the capabilities of regular sports and playgrounds. Adults can use them for functional training and physical fitness work, while children use them for developing agility and coordination in a playful format.

The Russian Ninja complex is one of the most illustrative examples of this approach: the sports ground transforms into a space with its own route and a series of consecutive challenges.
