Beijing, September 30 /Xinhua/ — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday called for strengthening confidence and taking decisive steps to advance the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Xi Jinping, who is also the General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made this appeal at a reception held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.
The founding day of the PRC is celebrated on October 1.
The meeting was chaired by Li Qiang. Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang, Li Xi, and Han Zheng were present at the event, along with about 800 other Chinese and foreign guests.

The Chairman of the People’s Republic of China recalled that over the past 77 years, the Chinese people, led by the party, have performed two miracles, achieving rapid economic development and long-term social stability.

According to him, despite increasing pressure, the Chinese economy has continued to move forward on the path of innovative and high-quality development since the beginning of this year, demonstrating strong resilience and vitality.
As Xi Jinping indicated, it is necessary to maintain this momentum, promote innovative, high-quality, and healthy economic development, take practical measures to ensure and improve people’s well-being, and strive to achieve the socio-economic development goals set for the current year to ensure a successful start to the 15th five-year plan (2026-2030).
The Chairman of the PRC called for maintaining a firm commitment to the consistent implementation of the political policies of “one country, two systems,” “Hong Kong is governed by Hongkongers,” “Macau is governed by Macanese,” and a high degree of autonomy for both regions.
The central government will support more effective integration of Hong Kong and Macao into the nationwide development framework to ensure the long-term prosperity and stability of the two regions, emphasized the Chinese leader.
Xi Jinping also called for deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, resolutely opposing separatist forces seeking “Taiwan independence,” resisting external interference, promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations, and the great cause of national reunification.
The Chairman of the PRC added that China will firmly uphold an independent and self-reliant peaceful foreign policy, promote the implementation of the four major global initiatives he proposed, and advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, bringing more certainty and positive energy to a turbulent and changing world.
