On October 1st, on the Day of the Older Generation, more than 140 Moscow longevity centers a large-scale festive event “Family Evening of Longevity” will take place for everyone interested. Guests can expect dozens of master classes and concerts, an intergenerational quiz, and other activities. This was announced by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

“In recent years, the capital has entered the top three regions leading in life expectancy. The mission of ‘Moscow Longevity’ is to create conditions for an active and fulfilling life for older Muscovites, helping them find new interests, new friends, and maintain their health. For the Elderly Generation Day, we have prepared a special format — a large-scale city-wide event called ‘Family Evening of Longevity.’ The event will take place in every Moscow Longevity center across the city — there are more than 140 of them. Muscovites of all ages can join the celebration: intergenerational quizzes, lectures, and masterclasses have been prepared for them, and on 10 flagship venues, artists and experts will perform for guests. On the eve, there will be a big concert: participants of ‘Moscow Longevity’ will not only see the festive program but will also perform on stage in some numbers,” said Anastasia Rakova.

The festive program will begin a day before the event with a big concert titled “But Life Goes On!”. It will take place twice in the Moscow concert hall — at 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM on September 30. Participants of “Moscow Longevity” will not only be spectators but also the stars of the evening. They will perform solo and together with professional artists, as well as participate in dance and vocal numbers. The concert will be hosted by Grigory Druzhinin, a finalist of the 11th season of the show “The Voice Kids”, actor and TV host Alexander Oleshko, and TV and radio presenter Anna Shatilova.

The program will include various performances—from the hit “Dance While You’re Young” performed by Rodion Gazmanov and Valeria’s favorite songs to romances and classical arias. Along with the project’s participants, the stage will be joined by the ensemble “Neposedy,” the group “Pyatero,” the vocal-instrumental ensemble “Samotsvety,” theater and film actor Sergey Shakurov, singer and composer Ekaterina Semenova, and other stars. The evening will conclude with the number “Life Goes On!” featuring all the artists.

The festive program of the “Family Evening of Longevity” will begin on October 1 at 7:00 PM in all Moscow Longevity centers. The event will be opened by a dance flash mob near the arch of the main entrance of VDNH, involving over 200 elderly Muscovites — it will be echoed by more than 140 centers.

A special program has been prepared at 10 flagship venues. It will feature Honored Artist of Russia, TV presenter and announcer Tatyana Sudets, Honored Artist of Russia Leonid Serebrennikov, theater and film actresses Irina Bezrukova and Valeriya Lanskaya. Performers Ivan Chebanov and Aili will also take the stage, as well as the Moscow Concert Choir under the direction of Honored Art Worker of Russia Valery Rybin, the folk ensemble “Matrena-Art”, the group “Katyusha”, and the string orchestra Selen Orchestra.

Guests will be able to attend master classes on style and fashion, neurography, aromatherapy, vocals, aerobics, and Qigong gymnastics. In addition, lectures by industry experts and intergenerational events are planned: culinary battles, plein airs, and literary marathons. A wellness bar serving vitamin and oxygen cocktails will be available for guests. The evening will conclude with a disco “Special set for ‘Moscow Longevity'”, which will bring together different generations on the dance floor.

In addition, at VDNKh in the Palace of State Services (pavilion No. 71) at 19:30 there will be a grand opening of the permanent exhibition of the art object “Tsar Kokoshnik.” It was created by 116 craftswomen of “Moscow Longevity” using the ancient technique of soot on white for the exhibition of contemporary Russian art “Svoyasi. Traditions of the Future,” which was previously displayed at the State Historical Museum. Now the art object has found a permanent place in the palace space.
