Specialists from the capital’s urban infrastructure complex have completed the current repair of the Vnukovo-2 transport tunnel in the Novomoskovsky Administrative Okrug. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement. Petr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to the maintenance of engineering structures; all objects undergo regular inspections, and if necessary, a decision is made to carry out major or current repairs. We have completed the repair of the Vnukovo-2 transport tunnel, which is located in the village of Vnukovo, on Tsentralnaya Street at the exit to the Kiev highway, and has one direction,” noted Petr Biryukov.
During the work, traffic was never completely stopped — lanes were closed in stages.
The tunnel’s fronton-type wall cladding was replaced. First, specialists installed a metal frame, which was then covered with cladding panels. This system improves the structure’s appearance, provides the necessary moisture resistance, and helps extend the service life of the constructions. The total area of the work performed was about 3.3 thousand square meters.
Over the past 14 years, every bridge facility in the capital has undergone various types of repairs. This has allowed for extending the service life of the structures and creating more comfortable conditions for drivers and pedestrians.
