Construction of the campus for the Moscow State Technological University (MSTU) “STANKIN” has begun in Kommunarka. One of the features of the building will be a usable roof of the stylobate. A public space for students will be arranged there. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction. Vladimir Yefimov.
“When constructing modern educational facilities, the city strives to create an environment that is convenient not only for studying but also for relaxation and socializing. In the new campus of MSTU ‘STANKIN’ in Kommunarka, part of such an environment will be a usable roof of the stylobate with an area of about 11.5 thousand square meters. Here, an equipped, greened private space for students is planned to be created outdoors. It will be divided into several functional zones: for socializing, quiet relaxation, and outdoor studying,” Vladimir Efimov said.
The operational roof will become part of the new campus. Modern infrastructure will be created for study, scientific work, and collaborative projects. The campus will consist of seven buildings connected by a common stylobate. The first building will become the linking element of the entire complex, while the others will form separate centers of competence with departments and scientific fields.
“There will be lecture and seminar rooms, computer classes, and specialized laboratories, including those for working with virtual and augmented reality technologies, as well as additive technologies. An important part of the campus will be comfortable coworking spaces, rooms for collaborative work, and a library with reading rooms,” noted the head of the Moscow Department of Civil Construction, Alexey Alexandrov.
The construction of the new campus of MSTU “STANKIN” will create a large educational center in Kommunarka. In addition, a sports and health complex with an indoor swimming pool, an athletics arena, an ice rink, sports and gym halls is planned to be built in this area. It is intended for the students of the super college and students of the new MSTU “STANKIN” campus.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin spoke about the start of construction of the MSTU campus “STANKIN” in the territory of the Kommunarka district.
