“The new kindergarten building in Metrogorodok is designed for 250 places. The facility, with an area of almost six thousand square meters, includes all the necessary rooms for the comfortable stay of the pupils. For their comprehensive development, there are equipped multifunctional gym and music halls, rooms for additional classes, as well as its own swimming pool with locker and shower areas. The kindergarten has a medical office and a complete-cycle food unit. The facility has been transferred to the Moscow education system and has already opened for the young residents of the district,” said Vladimir Yefimov.
The architectural design of the kindergarten building harmonizes with the appearance of the neighboring residential houses. The three-story structure consists of several rectangular volumes of varying heights, forming a stepped silhouette. The main part of the facade is faced with tiles in a warm sandy shade, while the corners and ends are highlighted with a darker color and protruding elements. The entrance group is enhanced with a metal frame featuring a decorative pattern.
On the first floor, there is a lobby with a security room, a medical unit, a swimming pool, and groups for the very youngest children. The second floor is equipped with a gymnasium with a storage room for equipment, classrooms for developmental activities, and spaces for preschoolers. The third floor is intended for older children. Each group has a changing room, a playroom, a bedroom, and a buffet. Environmentally friendly materials were used for the interior finishes, complying with sanitary-epidemiological and fire safety requirements.
The progress of work on the site was monitored by State Construction Supervision Committee of the City of Moscow (Mosgosstroynadzor).
“The construction of the kindergarten on the land plot of about 0.9 hectares was regularly inspected by the committee’s inspectors: there were 12 site visits. As a result of the final control and supervision event, a conclusion was made that the building complies with the project documentation,” added the chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor.
The building has been adapted for visitors with limited mobility. Entrances were made without level changes, and the door openings are at least 0.9 meters wide. An elevator was installed for moving between floors.
The area was landscaped and greened. Separate playgrounds with shade canopies, small architectural forms, and equipment chosen according to the children’s height were created for different age groups. A sports zone was provided for outdoor activities.
