Second place for the oral presentation was taken by an assistant of the Department of Physical Chemistry Faculty of Natural Sciences, NSU, graduate student at NSU, junior researcher at the Institute of Catalysis, SB RAS Vsevolod Vdovichenko at the international scientific conference “Dynamic Processes in Catalytic Structures,” which concluded today, September 25, at ITMO University in Saint Petersburg.

Vsevolod Vdovichenko presented a report titled “Large-scale modeling of the deactivation of the heavy oil hydroprocessing catalyst” on research conducted by scientists from NSU and the G.K. Boreskov Institute of Catalysis of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The topic of the presentation was related to multiscale modeling, according to which it is possible to track how the catalyst gradually becomes fouled with coke at three levels simultaneously: inside the pores, in an individual pellet, and throughout the entire reactor layer.

According to the chairman of the program committee of the international conference “Dynamic Processes in Catalytic Structures” Andrei Zagoruiko, “Vsevolod Vdovichenko presented an interesting and original work, in which he managed to model the real porous structure of an alumina catalyst carrier.”.

— The results he obtained pave the way for the creation of new highly efficient oil refining catalysts, – emphasized Andrey Zagoruiko.
