Specialists urban utilities complex the asphalt pavement on Lyublinskaya Street has been renovated. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in a regulatory condition. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, we completed asphalt repairs on Lyublinskaya Street, a major thoroughfare in the southeast of Moscow stretching over eight kilometers, passing through the Tekstilshchiki, Lyublino, and Maryino districts. In total, we replaced over 260,000 square meters of pavement,” noted Petr Biryukov.

The pavement in this section was last renewed in 2019.

One of the reasons for road repairs is rutting, which occurs due to heavy traffic. It causes discomfort for drivers and can negatively affect safety. Therefore, specialists regularly inspect the condition of highways, monitor the expiry of warranty periods, and carry out replacements in a timely manner. The main work is done at night when traffic flow is lower.

The repair takes place in several stages. First, specialists mill the existing surface, then repair inspection wells and stormwater grates. After that, a new coating is laid and road markings are applied.

Modern technologies and asphalt concrete mixtures, manufactured at city-owned plants, are used in road repairs.
