The government pays close attention to creating comfortable and safe conditions for citizens’ travels. To achieve this, systematic work is being carried out on the road network. In particular, within the framework of this year’s program, the state company “Avtodor” is repairing sections of highways with a total length of about 430 km, and also conducting major repairs on nearly 6 km. As of today, more than 50% of the planned work volume has been completed, said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
“Building a reliable road infrastructure and maintaining it in regulatory condition is an important guideline within the framework of comprehensive territorial development. This consistent and systematic work addresses the tasks of improving the quality of life for our citizens. Thus, this year, on the routes supervised by the state company ‘Avtodor,’ repairs are planned for about 430 km and major repairs for almost 6 km. As of today, work has been completed on 255 km – more than half of the planned volume. Road workers are on schedule. Presently, work has resumed on the M-4 ‘Don’ highway, which traditionally pauses during the vacation period to ensure uninterrupted traffic to the Black Sea and Azov Sea coasts. On this highway, major repairs that involved reducing the number of traffic lanes have been excluded. With the arrival of autumn, work continues on a section over 5 km long in the Voronezh region. Additionally, road workers are repairing 16 sections of the M-4 totaling about 130 km. Repairs are underway in the Moscow, Tula, Lipetsk, Voronezh, and Rostov regions, as well as in the Krasnodar Territory. To date, work has been completed on 57 km,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that work is currently ongoing on the M-1 “Belarus” route. Specialists are renewing three sections in the Moscow and Smolensk regions with a total length of more than 30 km. To date, repair has been completed on 22 km. In addition, major works to improve the transport and operational condition of a 22-kilometer section of the M-3 route in the Kaluga region have been completed.
According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state company “Avtodor,” comprehensive work on renovating sections of high-speed highways is also underway on other roads.
“It is important for us to ensure a high level of condition of our road infrastructure. The throughput capacity of the routes, safety, and comfort of road users depend on this. For this purpose, we conduct a thorough analysis of the operational characteristics of the road surface and implement a comprehensive set of measures. For example, on the A-107 ‘Moscow Small Ring,’ we are repairing two sections with a total length of more than 28 km. We have already renewed the asphalt concrete pavement on 19.5 km. On the Central Ring Road (CKAD), this year we are replacing the top wear layer of asphalt concrete pavement on sections totaling more than 65 km, of which 20.5 km have already been completed. In addition, on the M-11 ‘Neva’ high-speed highway, which connects Moscow and Saint Petersburg, we are also replacing the upper layers of the road surface. Work is being carried out on three sections totaling about 150 km within the borders of the Tver, Novgorod, and Leningrad regions,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko.
