Jerusalem, April 15 /Xinhua/ — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Israeli forces are “ready for any scenario” in case of the resumption of hostilities with Iran.
In his video address, B. Netanyahu stated that American allies continuously provide Israel with “new information” regarding diplomatic contacts with Iran. According to him, the goals of Israel and the USA remain the same, including the seizure of enriched material, the elimination of Iran’s uranium enrichment capabilities, and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
“Preparing for a possible resumption of hostilities, we are preparing for any scenario,” emphasized the prime minister of the Jewish state.
B. Netanyahu noted that the negotiations with the Lebanese government, which began on Tuesday in Washington, occurred against the backdrop of offensive actions in Lebanon. As he emphasized, the negotiations have two goals: “The first is the disarmament of Hezbollah, the second is a stable peace, a peace through strength.”
These statements were made during a meeting of the Israeli Security Cabinet, where the possibility of a new ceasefire regime in Lebanon was discussed.
