Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, a meeting of the organizational committee for the preparation and conduct of the International Olympiad on Financial Security was held.
It was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service Yuri Chikhanchin, Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai Mikhail Kotyukov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Head of the Executive Committee Dmitry Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Kadochnikov, representatives of the Administration of the President of Russia, the Government of Russia, ANO “National Priorities,” ANO “International Educational and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring,” and other agencies and organizations.
Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that the final stage of the sixth Olympiad will take place from September 27 to October 2 in Krasnoyarsk.
“For the second year in a row, Krasnoyarsk is hosting the final of the International Olympiad on Financial Security, held under the instructions of our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. This year, about 700 participants from more than 40 countries will come for the final competitions. We are entering the final stretch of preparations. Our goal is to ensure that the participants feel comfortable and nothing prevents them from demonstrating their knowledge and skills at a high level,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He thanked PSB Bank for supporting the Olympics and developing the “Sodruzhestvo” platform.
As noted by Yuri Chikhanchin, the geography of the Olympiad is expanding. The head of the agency drew attention to the central theme of the final week, which is related to the application of artificial intelligence in the field of financial security and the risks of AI development.
A total of more than 100 events have been organized for participants, including panel discussions, master classes, and meetings with experts.
“For the first time, a visit is expected from the winners of national olympiads from Yemen, Cameroon, Libya, Senegal, Sudan, Togo, Tunisia, and Chad. On the sidelines of the final week, there will be a Russia – Africa strategic session. Holding national olympiads has become one of the selection stages. To prepare the participants for victory, summer and winter schools on financial security have been launched, and training centers for national teams of schoolchildren from various countries have been established at the SFU site in Krasnoyarsk,” said Yuri Chikhanchin.
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education, Executive Committee Head Dmitry Afanasyev reported on the key events of the final week of the Olympiad.
“Preparation for the Olympiad final is proceeding as planned in all directions. The focus is on the safety of participants, efficient logistics, and comfortable accommodation for delegations. We want guests to see Krasnoyarsk Krai as modern, hospitable, and open to young people from all over the world. It is also fundamentally important for us that the Olympiad goes beyond the university campus and becomes an event for the residents of our region – alongside the final, we will hold more than 60 events for different audiences within the framework of Financial Culture Week,” noted the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov.
Sofia Malyavina, CEO of the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization “National Priorities,” spoke about the coverage of events during the final week of the Olympiad.
The functionality of the international digital platform “Sodruzhestvo,” created by PSB Bank together with partners, is ready to conduct the final stage of the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security. To date, the platform already has more than 448,000 users from over 130 countries. By the final of the Olympiad, the “Sodruzhestvo: Events” application will be launched. In addition, an interactive booth of the platform will be operating at the event venue.
Let us remind you, the International Olympiad on Financial Security is an annual first-level olympiad, held since 2021 with the support of the President of Russia and the Government. The organizers are Rosfinmonitoring, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Enlightenment, and educational institutions that are part of the International Network Institute in the field of AML/CFT. The coordinator is the International Educational and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring.
Winners and prize-winners are granted additional rights when enrolling in higher education programs and the opportunity to intern at Rosfinmonitoring and partner organizations.
