On October 1, the autumn season of the Mayor of Moscow’s project “My Sports District” will begin in the capital. Free sessions led by professional trainers will take place at more than 50 venues in 47 districts of the city.

In the new season, participants will have access to training in six areas. City residents over 16 years old will be able to join classes in Zumba, yoga, dance fitness, stretching, and—for the first time in the project’s history—running. Adults in Moscow will also be able to attend fitness training sessions.

Meetings will take place in courtyards, parks, and other spaces. The organizers tried to preserve locations that are very popular with city residents. Thus, running sessions will continue, including at the project’s flagship venue — the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, while dance fitness, yoga, stretching, and Zumba training will be held in indoor pavilion No. 27 “Physical Culture and Sports” at VDNH and at the local center “Meeting Place ‘Sofia'”.

The project plans to conduct more than 1,200 sessions. Joining the groups is free of charge. To do this, you need to choose a convenient venue, date, and time on on the website and register in advance. It is recommended to arrive at the training session 5–10 minutes before it starts, wearing comfortable sportswear and footwear suitable for the weather.

“In the autumn season, we have prepared familiar and beloved fitness and running workouts for participants, as well as classes in yoga, Zumba, dance fitness, and stretching. For the first time, running workouts will be available to participants from 16 years old. We invite Muscovites and guests of the capital to join the workouts and spend the autumn actively, benefiting their health and in the company of like-minded people,” said Polina Ermoshina, curator of coaches for the ‘My Sports District’ project.

Workouts organized By the Moscow City Department of Sports. The project aligns with the objectives of the state programs of the Russian Federation ‘Development of Physical Culture and Sports’ and “Sport of Russia”, as well as the information campaign “Motivation for Sports and Promotion of Sports Infrastructure.” One of the goals is to increase the proportion of citizens regularly engaged in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to achieving this objective. Special attention is paid to the proximity of infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their family members into the sports community.
