The government continues to support citizens in improving their housing conditions. An additional 157 billion rubles have been allocated from the cabinet’s reserve fund to subsidize the interest rate on preferential mortgage programs. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Out of the total amount, almost 66 billion rubles will be allocated to subsidize the “Family Mortgage” program, under which parents raising children can take out a preferential loan to buy an apartment or a house. By the President’s directive, this program has been extended until 2030.

About 6 billion rubles more are allocated to ensure the implementation of the “Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage,” and about 85 billion rubles are allocated to subsidize the interest rate on previously issued loans under the “Preferential Mortgage” program, which ended on July 1, 2024.

Speaking about the decision made at the Government meeting on September 17, Mikhail Mishustin noted that federal funding will allow obligations to banks to be fulfilled in full, and citizens will retain the opportunity to use the existing preferential mortgage programs.

“We expect that millions of families will be able to resolve their housing issues thanks to such government support measures,” emphasized the head of the cabinet and asked Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin to keep this matter under personal supervision.
