Since the beginning of the year, 12 regional business missions have been organized in Moscow to develop domestic tourism. During these events, the capital presented its tourist opportunities and held B2B negotiations with potential partners in various regions of Russia.

Moscow City Tourism Committee continues to actively work on unlocking the country’s tourist potential. Representatives from the capital have strengthened interregional ties with the Rostov, Saratov, Irkutsk, Volgograd, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, Samara, Tula, and Orenburg regions, as well as the Khabarovsk and Perm territories and Saint Petersburg. The next destinations will be the Kaliningrad, Omsk, Chelyabinsk, and Kemerovo regions.

A telling example was the cooperation with the Tula region: in 2026, the capital signed three agreements with the region in the field of tourism. They provide for the mutual promotion of tourism potential in the domestic Russian and international markets, as well as the implementation of the project “Moscow + Tula Region: a journey through traditions” and the interregional route “Russia of Leo Tolstoy.” Within the framework of the latter, the first events have already taken place: on August 8–9, the program “Summer Journey. Moscow — Yasnaya Polyana” was held as part of the festival “Mansions of Moscow”.

In addition to outbound business missions, Mostourism took part in a meeting on the development of water tourism in the Volga basin in March, in the “Intourmarket-2026” exhibition in Nizhny Novgorod in April, and in the international forum “Travel!” in Moscow in June.

The capital pays special attention to children’s tourism. Since the beginning of the year, Mosturizm has participated in three major events for children and teenagers in the regions. These venues featured the creative laboratory “Moscow” with workshops from capital museums, as well as the mobile children’s tourist center “Moscow” offering VR city tours and career orientation tests from the “City of Discoveries” project.

Such events include the all-Russian project-festival “Russian School Spring,” which took place in the Stavropol Territory from May 15 to 20 and gathered children from more than 80 regions of Russia. The contemporary art festival for the whole family “Archstoyanie for Children” was held in the Kaluga Region from June 25 to 28. From July 9 to 12, the all-Russian family tourism festival “More Than a Journey” was held in the Republic of Mordovia.

In addition, the capital becomes a platform for promoting the tourist potential of the regions. In March, a photo exhibition “Crimea in My Heart” took place near the TASS building on Tverskoy Boulevard and at VDNH. In May, a delegation from the Krasnoyarsk Territory visited Moscow, presenting exclusive routes along the Yenisei, northern territories, and historic cities. From August 21 to 23, the Tula Region Days were held at the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve as part of the “Summer in Moscow” project.

Digital service Russpass remains an active platform for promoting travel within Russia. In 2026, it turned six years old. The tourism ecosystem unites offerings in 85 regions of the Russian Federation, allowing people to independently explore Russia — from ready-made tours to themed routes.

Interregional contacts have yielded results: today there are already 10 combined “Moscow +” projects. They allow travelers to combine visiting the capital with other cities in Russia.

Today, travelers have access to various combined routes, including joint projects with Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Moscow, Tyumen, Vladimir, Murmansk, Tver, and Tula regions. For example, “Two Cities — A Million Impressions” offers to combine a trip to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, “Three Capitals: From Dawn to Dusk” — to visit Moscow, the Northern Capital, and Nizhny Novgorod, and “Russian Holidays. From the Capital of Russia to the Capital of Siberia” — to go from Moscow to the Tyumen region. Additionally, the capital is developing the national tourist route “Golden Ring.”

The formation of interregional tourist offers and an event program in the capital is supported by a national project “Tourism and Hospitality”.
