An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

From April 6 to 12, the traditional “Health Week” was held at the Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The initiators of the event were the Public Relations Department and the Higher School of Media Communications and Public Relations of the Humanities Institute. This year, the project received the concept “Sport for You”: it united students and teachers, giving everyone a charge of energy, joy of movement, and bright impressions.

During the years of the “Health Week” existence, it ceased to be simply a series of flash mobs. Today it is a large-scale program, thanks to which sport is organically woven into university life — through live communication, active participation, and non-standard event formats.

The start of Sports Week fell on April 7 — World Health Day. The program was opened with exercises led by athletes from the ‘Black Bears-Politekh’ cheerleading team. Participants performed flexibility and endurance exercises, accompanied by the mascot of Politekh — the ‘Black Bear,’ who enthusiastically joined the warm-up.

Among the many activities, the interactive mini-golf ramp was especially memorable. Anyone interested could try their hand at this game and compete with others in accuracy — the atmosphere was truly exciting.

“Health Week” would have been incomplete without a warm-up for the brain. In an intellectual competition, teams exchanged knowledge about the history of sports, Olympic disciplines, and curious facts about the Polytechnic team. The quiz winners received prizes from the project partners and, at the same time, proved that being erudite is just as cool as being physically fit.

The culmination of the week was a morning yoga session in the IMOP gym. Under the guidance of a professional trainer, students mastered basic asanas—exercises that help relieve stress and improve well-being. The organizers took care of everything: they prepared comfortable mats and provided participants with water. This calm and harmonious practice became a symbolic “reboot” after a busy few days.

The organizers emphasize: studying in the middle of the semester, especially for engineering students, requires enormous efforts. Yoga at the Polytechnic is an opportunity to calm the mind, find balance, and realize that taking care of mental health is as important a part of sports as physical training.

“Health Week—2026” united politicians, turning into a space for movement, communication, new impressions and acquaintances. The success of the event confirmed it once again: young people are sincerely interested in initiatives that help form healthy habits and maintain activity.

“It was important for us to remind: taking care of yourself is not only a physical form, but also an internal balance,— noted the project leader, a 3rd-year student in the “Advertising and Public Relations” program, Yana Lipatnikova.— Yoga, quizzes, and other interactive events have become a symbol of the fact that sport can be diverse. And everyone found something of their own this week.

The week has ended, but its energy still lives on in Polite, inspiring students to new achievements!
