“On the instructions of Sergey Sobyanin, together with the Government of the Moscow Region, we continue to launch routes under the ‘Moscow — Region’ project. They provide quality transportation within the largest agglomeration in our country. Today, the project includes about 60 routes: they connect eight urban districts of the nearest Moscow Region with rail frame stations within the MKAD. More than 430 buses of different capacity classes operate on these lines, equipped according to the highest standards of Moscow transport,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
On the buses of the “Moscow – Region” project, passengers have access to the usual payment methods for travel. A single trip can be paid for with a “Wallet” ticket on the “Troika” card, a bank card, or a smartphone. Unlimited “Unified” season tickets for the “Suburban” zone for 30, 90, or 365 days, recorded on the “Troika,” are also valid.
For privileged categories of citizens, the ability to use the social cards of a Muscovite and a resident of the Moscow region is retained. If the Moscow region card does not work, it needs to be recoded to public services center in the region. Students of the capital’s educational institutions can load “Unified” tickets for the “Suburb” zone for 30 or 90 days onto the Moscow resident card, which makes regular trips more cost-effective.
The trip history when paying by bank card is available on special page. Passengers can also pay off their debts and remove the card from the stop list there.
By agreement between the Government of Moscow and the Government of the Moscow Region, more than 50 existing suburban routes in the western, northwestern, northern, and northeastern directions are planned to be included in the Moscow transport system by 2026. Modern buses with convenient schedules and consistent intervals will be put into service. They will be operated by professional drivers.
