Beijing, September 15 /Xinhua/ — Delegations from nearly one hundred countries, regions, and international organizations will participate in the 13th Xiangshan Forum, which will open on Tuesday in Beijing, the Ministry of Defense of China announced on Monday.

The list of forum participants, which will continue until Thursday, will include more than 60 representatives at the level of ministers, chiefs of general staffs, and above, said Jiang Bing, the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Defense, at a press conference.

As part of this year’s forum, dedicated to the main theme “Consolidating consensus on stability issues, jointly promoting governance in the security sphere,” there will be four plenary sessions and eight parallel sessions.

Closed seminars on sensitive topics such as the Ukrainian crisis and issues in the Middle East will also take place as part of the forum.

Since its inception in 2006, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum has evolved into a platform for global dialogue on security and defense issues. -0-
