Residents of over 30 old buildings have relocated or are in the process of relocation since the beginning of the program renovation programs in the Babushkinsky District of the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug. “A total of 93 buildings in the Babushkinsky District of Moscow have been included in the current renovation program. Their residents will be relocated in stages to modern residential complexes, but will remain close to the familiar social infrastructure of the district — surrounded by familiar shops, schools, kindergartens, clinics, and places for walks. Participants in the program receive new apartments with improved layouts and finished interiors. At present, city residents from 31 old buildings are moving or have already moved in the district, and more than 10 new buildings have been handed over for occupancy under the renovation program,” said Vladimir Efimov.
The resettled houses are dismantled, thereby freeing up sites for the construction of new buildings for relocating participants of the program and other in-demand infrastructure.
“In the Babushkinsky District, 22 houses have been completely resettled, 21 of which have already been demolished. The demolition is carried out using a special technology called ‘smart demolition,’ which is specifically applied within the framework of the renovation program. This is an environmentally friendly and safe method of demolishing old buildings with minimal noise and sorting of waste for recycling. Since the start of the renovation program implementation in the capital, the city has completely resettled and demolished over 930 objects of old housing stock,” clarified the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the city’s Department of Urban Policy.
The first residential buildings in the area were the five-story buildings on Ostashkovskaya Street. In the autumn of 2019, they were demolished, and later a new building was erected in their place, which was assigned the address of one of the demolished buildings — house 9, building 2.

Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin instructed to accelerate the implementation of the renovation program in twice.
