At the ‘Narodnoe Opolchenie’ station of the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya metro line, a bronze bas-relief has been placed in memory of the city’s defenders during wars and conflicts, commemorating the feat of volunteers. To immortalize their feat, we placed a large-scale bas-relief about 15 meters long at the station. At its core is a chronology of the combat path of the heroes who fought for their native city. Four more bronze reliefs are located on the platform walls of the Narodnoe Opolchenie station. They are executed in a unified artistic style and complement the main composition, revealing the scale of the people’s heroic deed. This series of reliefs is a kind of ode to unity, steadfastness of spirit, and readiness for self-sacrifice. It shows that in difficult days, the fate of the Motherland was defended by everyone, regardless of age or profession.

The average passenger flow at the ‘Narodnoe Opolchenie’ station has already reached 12 thousand people per day, and by 2030 this figure will grow to 14 thousand. Travel time for residents of the nearby developments has been reduced threefold: for example, it now takes 10 minutes instead of 30 to get to the MIBC ‘Moscow City’. It is estimated that 40 thousand passengers will use the transfer between the Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line and the BCL daily, and by 2030 their number will double. The transfer takes less than two minutes. The opening of the section has improved transport service for more than 550 thousand residents of five districts of Moscow,” noted the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the capital’s Department of Urban Development Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky noted that large-format bronze reliefs, which became a key element of the artistic design, impart a special monumentality and historical significance to the station complex space. The use of a durable material, resistant to vibrations from the underground transport environment, made it possible to achieve expressiveness and exceptional detail, including portrait features, historical attributes, and surface texture. The complex relief technique with deep volumetric plasticity, elaborating both the foreground and background of the composition, ensures a spectacular play of light and shadow.
The appearance of the station is built on the contrast and interaction of volumes, the harmony of light and geometry, which made it possible to create a modern and solemn image. The columns, the edges of which are illuminated by built-in light lines, gradually unfold into massive capitals and smoothly transition into the vaults. Combined with the zigzag black and red panels on the platform walls, this solution forms the appropriate spatial rhythm.
The platform design is executed in a strict palette: gray granite on the floor complemented by dark tones in the base area of the track walls. The columns and track walls are clad with high-tech aluminum honeycomb panels, including elements with stainless steel coating.
The finishes of the underground vestibules of the station are dominated by light tones: the floors are laid with light gray granite, and the walls are decorated with polished light gray granite and modern three-layer honeycomb panels. The original entrance portals of the pavilions above the staircases are created using inclined red planes and are clad with aluminum panels. On the other sides, the pavilions are bordered by stained glass made using a post-and-beam system.
Narodnoe Opolchenie Station
The “Narodnoe Opolchenie” station was built in the Khoroshevo-Mnevniki district, along Demyan Bedny Street at the intersection with Marshal Zhukov Avenue. It has two underground vestibules with exits onto Demyan Bedny Street and Marshal Zhukov Avenue. From “Narodnoe Opolchenie,” you can transfer to the station of the same name on the Large Circle Line (LCL) of the metro.
