On September 12 and 13, the MosKino cinema park, subordinate to the Moscow Department of Culture, will celebrate its birthday. The occasion is timed to the second anniversary of the opening of the largest film set in Russia open for mass visits.
Over two years, the film park has transformed into a true cinema city, uniting filmmaking, history, and cultural events. During the holiday weekends, guests can enjoy the immersive quest “Wedding” and many other activities — from staged shoots and stunt shows to creative workshops and atmospheric photo zones.
Festive program
The immersive performance “The Wedding,” based on Mikhail Zoshchenko’s story “The Most Important Day,” will take place in a Soviet apartment from the 1970s: the hosts are preparing for the celebration, and one of the guests is convinced that it is his wedding but completely does not remember what the bride looks like. Together with the participants, he will try to reconstruct the events of the past days and hide his confusion. However, in the finale, it turns out that all the preparations were not for a wedding but for the birthday of the “Moskino” cinema park. The story will end with a joint celebration and a commemorative photograph.
Guests will also be presented with a unified poster featuring films shot in the film park. And in the glass pavilion next to the “Moscow Street” set from 12:00 to 19:00, they will be able to create their own movie poster using AI technologies and control a digital character. Another digital attraction will operate in the glass pavilion near the “Chroma Key.” Three to four people can participate in the game simultaneously. Motion sensors will be attached to them, after which each will choose a character to control. A runner-format game will launch on the LED screen: the characters will mimic the participants’ movements — jumping, squatting, and moving sideways.
On the central square from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, guests will enjoy a spectacular stilt walkers’ show. In the “Cowboy Town,” you can watch the stunt performers’ show “One Cowboy, Two Cowboys” — sessions will be held at 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 5:00 PM.
Cinema art enthusiasts will be able to participate in the staged filming of “Ivan the Terrible” in the “Knyazheskiye Palaty”. Sessions are scheduled every hour from 12:00 to 18:00. Master classes on festival makeup and painting vinyl records will take place at the “Fair Square”.
In the “Moscow of the 1940s” set, guests will be able to take a sightseeing tour of the film park. Sessions are at 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 16:00, 17:00, and 18:00. The bus-and-walking route will allow visitors to see the sets where films are made — from historical dramas to large-scale blockbusters. Guests will travel through locations recreating a Russian village, pre-war Moscow, and European cities, see the largest green screen in Europe, visit filming sites, walk through streets of different eras, and peek into film studios.
In addition, at the outdoor set “Moscow of the 1940s,” there will be a photo zone “Magic Carpet” with a Soviet carpet and USSR attributes. At “Cathedral Square,” a photo zone “Window into a Fairy Tale” will appear, and at “Fairground Square” — “Autumn Moment.”

Festival summer at the MosKino film park
This past summer at the MosKino film park was truly festival-like. Four major events — “Tradition,” “Straw,” “Dobrofest,” and “Amber Fest” — together attracted nearly 200,000 guests.
The “Tradition” festival brought together music, theater, poetry, and traditional crafts. The program includes performances by renowned artists, a “City of Masters” with craft workshops, showcases of collections by Russian designers, as well as theatrical and poetry programs.
The “Straw” music festival for the second time brought together well-known artists and young performers on one stage. Guests were treated to quests, immersive shows, and tours of film sets. The festival was attended by 33,000 people.
The rock festival “Dobrofest” brought together more than 45 thousand guests, while the gastronomic and musical “Ember Fest” featured 14 artists, 20 chefs, and 15 thousand spectators.
In the fall, guests can look forward to equally bright and thrilling staged shoots, master classes, and quests. They will be able to watch a cowboy stunt show and take part in tours — the “Overview” tour, as well as “Behind the Scenes. Secrets of Big Cinema.”
Russia’s largest film set
On September 7, 2024, the first phase of the film park was opened by the Mayor of Moscow and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. This year, the film studio complex has expanded with new facilities. Two modern sound stages with heights of 20 and 24 meters have been commissioned — each exceeding three thousand square meters in area. The stages are equipped with dressing rooms, costume rooms, and everything necessary for the efficient work of the production teams.
New outdoor sets have also been opened. Among them is a “Palace” in the European style with the possibility of ruination, located in the “Battlefield” area. Here, battle scenes can be filmed, including those involving pyrotechnics. Additionally, in 2026, a new hotel complex called “Cinema Residence” with fairy-tale castle architecture and modern interior design was built in the film park. It consists of eight buildings and offers 202 rooms of varying comfort levels. Next to the complex, there is a walking area styled as a Russian estate with gazebos and a view of the pond.
