Students of the capital’s universities and colleges are invited to participate in the “Student of the Year Moscow” contest. Applications can be submitted at official website until September 27. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“Winners will be determined in 21 categories. They are dedicated to science, creativity, volunteering, sports, media, and other areas,” noted Natalia Sergunina.
Candidates will face several challenges. In the first stage, they will have to solve practical tasks and pass a test on the history of Moscow. Another section of the test will be dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.
At the next stage, the participants will present to the experts and talk about their significant achievements. These may include wins in grant programs and specialized olympiads, implementation of their own projects and possession of awards, participation in organizing campaigns, workshops, exhibitions, concerts, and other events.
The names of the laureates will be announced in October. They will represent Moscow in the final of the Russian national award “Student of the Year.”
In 2025, the competition united more than 500 students out of 100 universities and colleges in the capital. The grand prize in the individual category was awarded to Alexander Mironenko from the Patrice Lumumba Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship, and in the group category — to the student scientific society of the National University of Science and Technology MISIS.
The event organizers are the project “Youth of Moscow» of the capital Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy, Moscow City Organization of the Russian Youth Union and the Moscow Center for the Development of Vocational Education of the capital Department of Education and Science.
