Specialists urban economy complex they are carrying out routine maintenance of the Novoalekseevsky tunnel, located in the northeast of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to the maintenance of engineering structures, all objects undergo regular inspections, and if necessary, a decision is made to carry out major or current repairs. Repairs have begun on the Novoalekseevsky tunnel, which is located at the exit from Novoalekseevskaya Street onto Mira Avenue towards the city center,” noted Petr Biryukov.
Traffic will not be completely closed during the repair — phased lane closures are planned.
A new cladding on the walls of the tunnel of the “gable” type will be installed: the panels will be fixed on a metal frame. This system improves the aesthetic appearance of the structure, provides the necessary moisture resistance, and extends the service life of the constructions. The total area of work will be about four thousand square meters.
Over the past 14 years, various types of repair work have been carried out on every bridge facility in the capital. Thanks to these efforts, the service life is extended and more comfortable conditions are created for drivers and pedestrians.
