A new digital assistant has become available to teachers of the capital’s colleges in “Moscow Electronic School” (“MESH”). The artificial intelligence-based service is designed for lesson planning. The chat bot can be found in the electronic journal “MESH.” It helps select summaries, tests that comply with federal standards, reference information, and also answers questions related to the use of “MESH.” This was reported by the press service Department of Education and Science of Moscow.
“The new digital assistant will allow college instructors to make lesson preparation more convenient and reduce the time spent searching for and selecting necessary verified materials. The task can be formulated directly in a dialogue with the chatbot. In addition, artificial intelligence can generate images for visually explaining complex topics,” the agency’s press service said.
Interaction with the digital assistant is built in a dialogue format. The teacher can formulate a request of up to two thousand characters. The more detailed the task description, the more accurate the information received will be.
The chatbot generates materials based on data from digital textbooks in the “MESH” library and instructions from the “MESH Help” section. The digital assistant is guided by federal educational programs and standards, and also takes into account current regulatory documents.
The chatbot’s response can be copied and used in further preparation for classes. The history of queries to the service is saved automatically, and the most useful requests can be added to “Favorites” by the user.
After the dialogue is completed, the teacher is invited to evaluate the received response. Feedback helps to improve the digital assistant’s performance.

“Moscow Electronic School” is a joint project of the capital Department of Education and Science and Department of Information Technology. It was launched in 2016.
