The first stage of the All-Russian Schoolchildren’s Olympiad (VsoSH) — the country’s main intellectual competition — has begun in Moscow. It will continue until October 25. As part of the school stage, starting from the fourth grade, participants can complete tasks in Russian language and mathematics, while students in grades 5-11 can participate in all other subjects of the Olympiad. This year, the competition is held in 28 subjects — from mathematics, biology, and literature to ecology, Chinese language, and information security. To participate in the olympiad, you need to log in on school.mos.ru under their account. Then you need to select the “Olympiads” service, go to the corresponding card, and click “Register.” After that, it is necessary to confirm that the student is registering for the olympiad using the account under which they plan to complete the tasks. It is recommended to check the system login and access to the service in advance to avoid possible difficulties on the day of the olympiad. The main selection of candidates for the capital’s Olympiad teams takes place in the autumn, and the final team compositions will be determined at the beginning of next year based on the regional stage results. If there are available spots and high results in the initial stages of the All-Russian Schoolchildren Olympiad, additional participants will be able to join the team. Winners and prize-winners of last year’s final stage are automatically enrolled in the team and do not need to undergo additional selection. Students in grades 7-11 who score the required number of points at the school stage will be invited to the next stage of the competition — the municipal level. Winners and prize-winners of the final stage of the Olympiad receive benefits for admission to Russian universities — ranging from credit for 100 points on the Unified State Exam to enrollment without entrance exams in the relevant field.
