An overpass ramp is open — the exit from Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) on Kashirskoye Highway. About this on his channel at in the messenger “Max” reported Sergey Sobyanin.
“We continue to develop our main road project of recent years — the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. Today we opened a new exit from the MSD to Kashirskoye Highway. It is a two-lane overpass 800 meters long. Part of the structure passes over the MCD-2 tracks. The work was carried out during technological windows without stopping train traffic, in order to minimize inconvenience for passengers,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

The new two-lane overpass provides a traffic-light-free exit from the southern direction of the MSD to Kashirskoye Highway towards the MKAD, and also directly connects the MSD with Southern bypass. The projected traffic volume on the overpass is 6,200 vehicles per day.
“Thanks to the artificial structure, the mileage of vehicles on the section will be reduced by almost half, and the time to exit from the MSD to Kashirskoye Highway will decrease sixfold — from six minutes to one,” added the Mayor of Moscow.

In addition, a 50 percent reduction in traffic is expected on the section of Kaspiyskaya Street (from the Moscow Ring Road to Kashirskoye Highway), and an eight percent reduction on the section of Kashirskoye Highway (from Kaspiyskaya Street to Shipilovsky Passage). Moreover, transportation accessibility has improved for four districts: Moskvorechye-Saburovo, Tsaritsyno, Orekhovo-Borisovo Severnoye, and Brateyevo, where about 440,000 people live.
Structurally, the overpass is divided into two parts: the first is made of metal structures with an orthotropic deck, and the second is made of monolithic prestressed reinforced concrete. For the stability of the road embankment on the approaches to the structure, reinforced concrete retaining walls have been installed.
A total of 1.7 kilometers of roads have been built within the project, including (besides the overpass):
— side road along Kashirskoye Highway (256 meters, two lanes of traffic in one direction);
— exit from the main route of Kashirskoye Highway to the side driveway (58 meters, one lane of traffic in one direction);
— exit from the side road onto the main lane of Kashirskoye Highway towards the MKAD (245 meters, one lane in one direction);
— access roads for servicing stationary snow-melting units and cellular towers (384 meters, one — two lanes of traffic in one direction).
In addition, the reconstruction of the underground pedestrian crossing near building 57 on Kashirskoye Highway has been completed. It is now complemented by a new section laid under the renovated exit to Kashirskoye Highway. During the improvement works, lawns with a total area of 0.7 hectares were planted on the territory.
Traffic on the main route of the Moscow Fast Diameter was opened on September 9, 2023. The route allows motorists to travel from the north to the east of Moscow — from the Businovskaya interchange to the M-12 highway, as well as to the south — to the M-2 “Crimea” highway.
Approximately 400,000 vehicles pass daily through the MSD. Along with the MKAD and the Third Ring Road (TTK), the highway is among the top three most in-demand routes in the capital. The implementation of the MSD has allowed travel time on certain routes to be reduced by 25–50 percent. In addition, the load on sections of the Garden Ring, TTK, and MKAD has decreased by up to 15 percent.
New roads of Moscow
Since 2011, over 1,600 kilometers of new roads have appeared in Moscow, and 75 percent of transport highways have been built or reconstructed. The capital has gained 503 new tunnels, overpasses, and bridges — the number of artificial transport structures has increased by more than 70 percent. In addition, the city has built 376 off-street pedestrian crossings.
In 2026–2028, it is planned to build 296 kilometers of roads, 46 artificial structures, and 53 pedestrian crossings. Thus, the plans for 2026 include about 100 kilometers of new roads, 18 artificial structures, and 16 pedestrian crossings.
Among the key facilities commissioned in 2026:
— section of the Southern bypass from Kaspiyskaya Street to 1st Kotlyakovsky Lane (opened in June);
— a connector road between Dobrolyubova Street and Skladочная Street (opened in June);
— an overpass on the main route of Enthusiasts Highway at the intersection with Svobodny Avenue and Bolshoy Kupavensky Drive (opened in August);
— the final section of the MSD along Kaspiyskaya Street from Kantemirovskaya Street to the Paveletsky direction of the Moscow railway (the first stage was completed in September);
— reconstruction of the Simonovskaya and Krutitskaya embankments (commissioned in September);
— a connecting road between the MSD and Academician Korolev Street, including a new overpass over the third tracks Moscow Central Diameter.
