At the foot of Nanny Mountain on Mount Qinyuushan, a spring run “Embrace of Spring” took place, with 3000 runners participating. The organizers carefully designed the route in such a way as to connect several main zones of blooming on Mount Qinyuushan, allowing runners to truly immerse themselves in the beauty of spring during the run.
On the slope of Qinshushan, the season of vigorous spring blooming has begun, and everywhere you can see “traveling photographers” with cameras in hand, patiently helping tourists take the necessary pose in order to capture the moment when “the human face and flowers shade each other.”
From “spring runs” to “photographing spring” — the “experience economy” is becoming part of the everyday life of modern Chinese youth, and an unnoticed wave of consumption is gaining momentum, primarily based on “emotional value.”
Taste sensations are another important aspect that allows young people to discover the city for themselves. In Nanning, “Laoyou” noodles are one of the calling cards of the local cuisine; many young tourists come here specially to experience the city’s atmosphere through the sour-spicy and aromatic flavor of the noodles.
In the historical and cultural quarter “Three Pedestrian Streets and Two Alleys” in Nanning, long queues form at small shops selling souvenirs with blessing symbols and fashionable toys, while young people in workshops concentrate on creating their own works. These small goods, satisfying emotional needs for comfort, blessing, accompaniment, and support, become “soulful containers” into which youth pour their feelings, also spawning numerous niche startups, though the area remains an attractive business sphere.
According to industry experts, currently the “experience economy” in China is enveloping many sectors. At the same time, three main areas—cultural tourism, entertainment and social events, as well as a new format of retail trade—are becoming the primary drivers of market growth thanks to high popularity among young consumers, widespread adoption, and flexible business models. As the course towards quality development in China advances, the “experience economy” will gain even broader development prospects.
