At the Institute of Computer Science and Cybersecurity of SPbPU, two specialized spaces of the laboratory “Programming Technologies Yadro-Polytech” were opened. The solemn opening was attended by the Vice-Rector for Educational Activities of SPbPU Lyudmila Pankova, the director of WSHPI Pavel Drobintsev, the head of educational program development department at YADRO Mikhail Salamatov, as well as staff and students of WSHPI.
This laboratory has been opened thanks to our partners, and I hope that all the students who will study here will become some of the best IT specialists. It is very convenient that the lectures conducted in the classroom can be broadcast in the research space. This will allow students to listen to the theoretical course without interrupting their practical work. I would like to note that domestic equipment and software have already been installed in the laboratory. Now the main thing is for new ideas to be born here, and for new products and technologies to be developed,” said Ludmila Pankova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities at SPbPU.
The first audience is a research space where staff, lab assistants, and students work together on projects. It provides both fixed and dynamic workplaces. The technical base includes domestic all-in-one PCs and Kvadra laptops, an experimental stand with a set of boards featuring processors based on the RISC-V architecture, as well as a full set of the necessary office equipment.
Everything in the laboratory has been done to make it comfortable to work, study, and interact with each other here. This space opens up opportunities for professional growth, so that students can later find their path in IT. An atmosphere close to IT company offices has been created here. This way, work will be more productive, and subsequently it will be easier for students to adapt to the professional environment, said the director of VSHPI Pavel Drobintsev.
The second classroom is a modern educational room with 45 seats, adapted for lectures, practical classes, seminars, intensives, and other events. The classroom tables allow easy reconfiguration of the space: from a traditional seating arrangement to a team work format.
The head of the educational programs development department at YADRO, Mikhail Salamatov, emphasized: “In this laboratory, we combine several educational programs that we, as a company, implement at Polytech. Here, it is possible to conduct research work in various areas of programming.”
Moreover, during the ceremonial opening of the laboratory, there took place awarding employees of the Higher School of Software Engineering.

- Assistant of VSHPI Nadezhda Stepina — “for high efficiency in solving tactical tasks and maintaining a steady work rhythm of the laboratory.”
- Nikita Cherepanov, a programmer at VSHPI, is recognized “for the creativity of technical thought and the implementation of innovative approaches within the project on researching RISC-V architecture.”
- Senior Lecturer of WSPI Olga Alexandrova — “for planning and successful implementation of the specialized summer intensive at the laboratory, dedicated to verifying the compliance of storage system APIs with their specifications.”
- Assistant at HSE MI Vasily Kasilov — “for systematic contribution to the development of the laboratory’s human resource potential and impeccable methodological leadership in training engineers in the field of system programming in C++.”
- Senior lecturer at VShPI Alexey Maslakov — “for the comprehensive implementation of the project ‘Automation of testing the KvadraOS operating system,’ which ensured a significant increase in code coverage.”
- Lead programmer of VSHPI Evgeny Nikolaev is recognized “for highly professional support of the laboratory’s material and technical base, including organizing networks, the Internet, and maintaining digital accessibility, which is an indispensable condition for the productive scientific research and educational activities of the laboratory.”
