In the capital on Saturday, September 12, from 09:00 to 18:00, everyone will be able to complete the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” (GTO) and attend thematic events at the open summer venue “GTO in Moscow.”

Special zones will be prepared for participants. Each venue will have a stand near which the main events will take place. Guests will be able to complete a number of standards using mobile equipment to receive a badge of distinction or try their hand unofficially, and later decide on the official completion of the tests. Among the standards are a forward bend from a standing position with straight legs on a gymnastics bench, lifting the torso from a lying position on the back, pull-ups from a hang, kettlebell snatch, standing long jump, as well as bending and straightening the arms in a plank position.

During the day, participants will be able to receive consultation from the complex’s judges on general GTO questions and get acquainted with the correct technique for performing the standards.

In addition, thematic events will be held for visitors — “GTO Record,” “GTO 10-Minute Session,” and “GTO Quiz,” as well as master classes. Participants in the “GTO Record” will compete in fulfilling standards according to their gender and age categories. The goal is to achieve a better result than the previous participant. A prize is provided for successful completion.

As part of the “GTO 10-Minute Challenge,” a competition will be held every hour in four categories. These are “The Strongest” (a kettlebell snatch with a 16-kilogram weight for men aged 16 and older), “The Most Flexible” (a forward bend from a standing position with straight legs on a gymnastic bench for women aged 16 and older), “The Most Jumping” (a standing long jump using a two-foot push-off for boys aged 10–15), and “The Most Enduring” (lifting the torso from a lying position on the back within one minute for girls aged 10–15). Participants who meet the standard for the required result will receive a commemorative souvenir.

At the “GTO Quiz,” you can test your knowledge of GTO topics and physical education in general. Exciting master classes on creating sports accessories with GTO symbols will be held for children.

The atmosphere will be complemented by a music area with a DJ, a relaxation zone, and a sports-style photo zone for memorable pictures.
