In the Moscow longevity centers for the capital’s residents, the project “Call me back yourself” organized a new series of interactive meetings “Scammer in the palm: let’s play and recognize!”. Classes will begin on September 10 and continue until the end of October.
During the quiz, participants will be able to get acquainted with typical fraud schemes in a playful manner, test their level of digital literacy, and reinforce practical skills. The first cycle of classes at the Moscow Longevity centers took place from March to June 2026.
“This interactive format helps overcome the psychological barrier: older generations begin to feel much more confident when working with modern technologies. Many participants admit that after the games they start using online services more boldly, and most importantly — they stop being afraid to say no to a stranger on the other end of the line. The sessions take place in a friendly atmosphere where mistakes are considered part of the learning process. Teams compete in speed and accuracy of answers, and each meeting ends with a discussion of personal questions related to the tasks performed. It is also possible to consult with experts on specific cases of encounters with fraudsters,” noted Valentina Shilina, head of the “Call Back Yourself” project.
The events are specially designed for senior city residents and are conducted in a team format. Detective stages have been prepared for the participants, each aimed at practicing specific safety measures.
In the “Telephone Roulette” round, Muscovites will learn to distinguish a scammer from a loved one by voice, paying attention to timbre, emotions, and phrases. In the “Creating a Fraudster’s Photofit” stage, participants together with the team will have to create a composite portrait of the offender. And during “Internet Surveillance,” visitors will learn how to recognize fake websites, spot errors in screenshots, and avoid falling for cybercriminals’ tricks.
After each round, experts will review the tasks and answer participants’ questions.
The organizer is the “Call Back Yourself” project with the support of the Moscow Department of Information Technology and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow.
Participation is free of charge, and all those of “silver” age are welcome to join. Registration and the game schedule are available at website or at any Moscow Longevity Center.
Information online project “Call me back yourself” was created in 2022 by the Moscow Government in cooperation with the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow.
