After the summer holidays, the kids once again acquire knowledge, try their hand at creativity, and find hobbies in languages schools, music studios, development centers, and other organizations.
According to data Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow, supplementary education organizations make up about 40 percent of all social enterprises listed in the capital’s registry. Moreover, the mark provides access to an ecosystem of additional opportunities,” said Natalia Kremneva, director of the Social Projects Support Fund.

The UNIO World Languages Academy appeared in Moscow in 2020 as a franchise of the Tyumen language school. It started with two classrooms and 20 students. Over six years, the project stopped working as a franchise and opened a second center in Solntsevo. Today, 500 people study there. At the academy, they do not just teach, but create a language environment: they organize international internships and conversation clubs with native speakers to help establish correct pronunciation. Many people learn English today, and mastering Chinese provides an additional advantage.
Academy specialists prove every day that additional foreign language lessons can not only help in studying a school subject but also increase confidence, broaden horizons, and in the future — educational and career opportunities. Unleash musical talent
After classes, it is important for children not only to reinforce the material covered but also to develop creatively. For example, in the “Solo” vocal studio, young Muscovites can learn to sing, dance, and perform in front of an audience.
The project’s history began in 1990 in Ulyanovsk, where Galina Lagutskaya opened the first studio. Over the decades, the company has come a long way: from participating in the filming of the federal TV show “At Cinderella’s Ball” and receiving the title “People’s Collective” to moving to Moscow and performing at festivals in Russia, CIS countries, and Europe.
Today the capital city is helping the studio improve the quality of services. The social project took advantage of the opportunity to post job openings for free on one of the largest Russian platforms for job and employee searches. This way, the team finds new experts capable of unlocking the talent in each student.
“We believe that music develops absolutely everyone. It teaches you to express emotions, boosts confidence, improves memory and motor skills, provides a creative space and inspiration, allows you to make new friends and like-minded people, and simply makes people happier. At the same time, many graduates of our studio have chosen music as their profession, enrolled in specialized universities, and successfully work as performers, musicians, and teachers, including with us,” notes Anna Lagutskaya, the studio director.
Inclusive education
It’s never too late to learn something new — doing so is important throughout life. This is the belief of the team behind the inclusive social project Everland, a graduate of the Social Projects Support Fund accelerator. The program enabled scaling the infrastructure and expanding employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The team not only develops the field independently but also shares experience — this year, a free school for coordinators and managers of social projects began operating. From October to December, both people with disabilities and those who want to become part of inclusive programs will be able to undergo training. Thanks to such solutions, social business goes beyond the region of presence, because significant social causes should be scaled up.
