Over six years, the docks have received and sent cruise ships more than eight thousand times to dozens of cities and tourist centers. Among them are Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Kazan, Perm, Kostroma, Samara, Arkhangelsk, Rostov, and others.

Before sending cruise ships on their routes, Mosgortrans employees at the Northern River Terminal fill the vessels with drinking water, conduct technical inspections and equipment checks, ensure the supply of shore power for the operation of equipment on the ship, and deliver cargo to the ships using electric transport. Passengers and their luggage are transported by 46 electric vehicles.
Last navigation season, the Northern and Southern river terminals received and dispatched ships 2,200 times. There were over 360 thousand passengers on board. This is a record figure for more than 30 years.
In addition, during the summer river navigation season, ferry routes operate to the Khimki docks in the Moscow region and Zakharovo in the Yuzhnoye Tushino district. The riverboats are used as an affordable and fast alternative to trips by metro and surface transport.

The Northern River Terminal is a cultural heritage site of regional significance. The main building was granted this status in 1987. After renovation, it has everything for passenger comfort: a waiting hall, a cafe, and an accessible environment for people with limited mobility. Special electric cars help travelers get to their cruise ship.
The station building houses the exhibition space of the Moscow Transport Museum, a souvenir shop, a rooftop observation deck accessible with a museum guide, and a restaurant restored together with the station.
The Northern River Terminal operates year-round. Its territory features a well-maintained embankment, a park with flower beds, and a stream simulating the Moscow Canal. The infrastructure supports an active lifestyle: there are scooter and bicycle rental points, bike lanes, sports and children’s playgrounds. Holidays, festivals, workshops, and excursions take place here. In winter, the main square hosts an ice rink. In summer, the Northern River Terminal offers an open-air cinema and outdoor sports training. Additionally, in the warmer months, there is a relaxation area with swimming pools.
