From January to August 2026, 46 new buildings were constructed and commissioned in the capital according to renovation program. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“In the eight months of 2026, 46 new buildings were constructed and commissioned in Moscow under the renovation program, with a total residential area of over 900 thousand square meters. This became an absolute record in the country since the beginning of the year, and the Moscow Renovation Fund confirmed its leadership in the volume of housing commissioned among all developers in Russia. More than 16 thousand apartments with improved finishes were equipped in the new buildings. The territory adjacent to the new buildings was comprehensively landscaped,” said Vladimir Efimov.
The new residential complexes are built using modern technologies that ensure high building reliability and allow the implementation of any architectural designs. The buildings are connected to individual heating stations, equipped with smart energy consumption meters, and have a high energy efficiency class.
“Since the beginning of the year, the most houses under the renovation program have been built in the southeast of the capital — 19 new buildings. The second place is taken by the North-Eastern and Eastern administrative districts, where six modern residential complexes were built this year. In third place are the southwest and south: four new houses have appeared there. Premises for opening various infrastructure facilities are provided on the first floors of the buildings,” added the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Urban Development Policy.
The unified approaches of the “Moscow Control” to safety and reliability in construction, which inspectors follow, ensure the capital’s quality standard. Chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor Anton Slobodchikov noted that since the beginning of the construction of houses under the renovation program, the department’s inspectors have conducted more than 500 on-site inspections in total. Employees of the subordinate Expertise Center (State Budgetary Institution “CEIIS”) also participated in the control and supervisory activities, carrying out a range of laboratory-instrumental studies. Following the results, conclusions on the compliance of the objects with the project documentation were prepared, after which the capital city State Construction Supervision Committee put them into operation.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 houses. Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin ordered to increase rates its implementation twice. In addition, the Mayor of Moscow reported that currently there is design and construction approximately 11 million square meters of housing under the renovation program.
