At the site “Apartment in Studenetsky Lane” of the State Museum of V.V. Mayakovsky, subordinate to the capital Department of Culture, on September 8, the educational project “Mayakovsky Reads” will begin. It will last until January 9. On November 7, Nikolay Chernyshevsky’s novel “What Is to Be Done?” will be analyzed, and on December 12, fragments of Vladimir Lenin’s brochure “The Infantile Disorder of Leftism in Communism” and Vladimir Mayakovsky’s poem “Vladimir Ilyich Lenin,” as well as the poem “The Third International,” will be discussed. In addition, on September 12, a themed program “One Day with Vladimir Mayakovsky” will take place in the Mayakovsky family’s memorial apartments. Museum guests will be able to read books, take a walk, and watch films.
On the same day, a walking tour will start at 3:30 PM in an apartment on Bolshaya Presnya. “Mayakovsky. Life in a Revenue House of the Modernism Era”. Its participants learn about the everyday life of tenement houses — from kerosene lamps to apartment bills. It was part of urban life, in which a particular culture of everyday existence was formed.

In the apartment on Studenetsky Lane, in addition to the first meeting of the reading group, a master class from the series will also take place “Mayakovsky Workshop”. On September 12 at 12:00, city residents will be invited to create fashionable accessories inspired by the work of Vladimir Mayakovsky.
On September 26 at 12:00, a master class will take place here — “Mayakovsky Workshop: Creating a Collage”. The session will begin with an exploration of the most vivid works of collage art from the 1920s. Then the guests will illustrate their favorite lines of the poet using this technique.
The master classes will be conducted by artist Tatyana Zaitseva, who is proficient in Russian sign language, so the sessions will be accessible to people with hearing impairments as well.
