First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov familiarized himself with the production facilities of the Irkutsk Heavy Engineering Plant. Accompanying him on the visit were the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Siberian Federal District Anatoly Seryshev, Governor of Irkutsk Oblast Igor Kobzev, and State Duma candidate Sergey Ten.
The Irkutsk Heavy Engineering Plant manufactures equipment for the gold mining industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, and the mining and processing industry. Today, IZTM’s scope of activity covers the entire cycle of creating complex industrial equipment – from project development and its implementation into the customer’s production chain to commissioning and personnel training. The enterprise’s production base includes workshops equipped with metalworking, foundry, and assembly equipment. The First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that projects in the metallurgical and mining-processing industries should be implemented relying on Russian expertise.
The enterprise is actively developing, utilizing government support measures. Thus, as part of participation in the federal project “Labor Productivity,” IZTM increased output per employee per month by 21% through the organization of production cells and preliminary order preparation.
At the beginning of 2026, the Irkutsk Heavy Engineering Plant increased its production capacity for the manufacture of special industrial equipment for mineral extraction and metallurgy. As a result of the modernization, production volume grew by 1.6 times, which will allow replacement of some imported products on the market. The total investment volume in the update of the machine tool park amounted to 112 million rubles, of which 67.5 million rubles was provided by the federal Industrial Development Fund, and another 7.5 million by the Industrial Development Fund of the Irkutsk region. Financing was carried out within the framework of the joint federal-regional program “Development Projects.”
