Nine representatives from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University received 10 awards at the all-Russian competition “Golden Names of Higher Education — 2026.” The winners represent the Institute of Industrial Management, Economics and Trade; the Institute of Civil Engineering; the Institute of Humanities; and the Advanced Engineering School “Digital Engineering” of SPbPU.
In 2026, the competition brought together teachers and scientists from 67 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and 8 federal districts. A total of 739 applications were submitted, of which 551 successfully passed moderation and were admitted to expert evaluation.
The competition covers the key areas of the professional activities of a university lecturer: contribution to science and education, training of scientific and teaching staff, development of practice-oriented learning, international cooperation, student science, educational and outreach activities.
Professor of the Higher School of Engineering and Economics IPMEiT Andrey Zaytsev and the director of the Higher School of Business Engineering IPMEiT Igor Ilyin were recognized in the categories “For Contribution to Science and Higher Education” and “For the Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel.”
Dmitry Rodionov, Director of the Higher Engineering and Economic School of IPMEiT, became the winner in the category “Academic Mentorship,” Vasily Makarov, Professor of the Higher School of Production Management of IPMEiT, received the award “For dedication to the profession and continuing the traditions of the Russian higher education,” and Tatiana Mokeeva, Associate Professor of the Higher Engineering and Economic School of IPMEiT, was honored “For the development of international cooperation in higher education.”
Marina Petrochenko, Director of the Engineering and Construction Institute of SPbPU, won the nomination “For the implementation of innovative teaching methods, the development of an open information environment in higher education” and was awarded a special prize in the nomination “For reflecting the culture of the peoples of Russia in educational programs, projects, and teaching materials.”
Deputy Director of the Humanitarian Institute Tatiana Nam won in the nomination “For contribution to social work and educational activities, professional orientation of children and youth.”
In the category “Young Scientific and Pedagogical Talents,” the winners were Associate Professor Nikolay Dmitriev from the Higher School of Engineering and Economics and Associate Professor Ilya Keresten from the Higher School of Advanced Digital Technologies at the PISH “Digital Engineering”.
The solemn award ceremony will take place on November 19 in Moscow, on Higher Education Teacher’s Day. The winners will be presented with their awards in the building of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The “Golden Names of Higher Education” project is an annual competitive selection based on recommendations from universities and scientific institutions across Russia, identifying the most worthy representatives of the professor-teacher staff who have personal successes and achievements in the educational process using the latest methodologies and innovative practices to improve the quality of education. The competition aims to elevate the status of the higher education teaching profession and to reward the winners with public recognition and an award, featuring information about the winners in the honorary book “Golden Names of Higher Education,” as well as promoting them and their methods further via radio and television, printed publications and newspapers, on specialized portals, and social networks. The competition is held by the All-Russian public organization “League of Higher Education Teachers” with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia.
