The qualities that the university cultivates and the type of professionals the State University of Management prepares were discussed by the university’s rector, Vladimir Stroev, at the 11th Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok.
On the first day of the forum, Vladimir Vitalyevich attended the plenary session with the participation of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, where the head of our country noted the importance of human capital for any economy and emphasized the priority of investments in education, healthcare, culture, and sports.
On September 4, the rector of GUU spoke at the plenary session “Education of the individual and professional for the Far East: the contribution of universities,” where he shared the experience of our university in personnel training and emphasized the importance of joint work of universities from different regions.
“For several years now, I have been urging Moscow and St. Petersburg universities to interact more with Far Eastern universities. Due to geography and demographics, there is a special situation here. How to supply such a vast territory with personnel – no one knows, and we ourselves must find the answer to this question. Universities face an important task: to retain the contingent of Far Eastern universities in their native region, while helping to enrich it with the competencies of leading Moscow universities.”
At the session, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Olga Petrova, Director of the Department of Personnel Policy of the Ministry of Education and Science Alexey Svistunov, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Education Viktor Basyuk, and rectors of leading universities also voiced their thoughts.
During the discussion, it was proposed to train vice-rectors for educational work at the State University of Management, as it has sufficient competencies to handle this task.
