On Chongarsky Boulevard in the southwest and south of the capital, specialists urban infrastructure complex the asphalt pavement was renewed. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Improvement Pyotr Biryukov.
“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in regulatory condition. Every year, as part of preparations for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, asphalt repairs were completed on Chongarsky Boulevard, located in the Zyuzino and Nagorny districts. In total, more than eight thousand square meters of pavement were replaced,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The pavement in this area was previously renewed in 2022.
One of the reasons for road repairs is rutting, which occurs due to heavy vehicle traffic. It causes discomfort to drivers and can negatively affect safety, so specialists regularly check the condition of highway surfaces, monitor the expiration of the warranty period, and carry out timely replacements. The work is mainly carried out at night when traffic is lower.
The repair is organized in several stages. First, specialists mill the existing surface, then they repair inspection wells and storm drain grates, after which they lay new asphalt, and in the final stage apply road markings.
