On September 5 and 6, Moscow colleges will showcase their educational opportunities at the All-Russian Career Guidance Forum “Russia — My Horizons”. It will take place at the Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman. Visitors will be able to participate in master classes, purchase goods from the “Made by Moscow Colleges” brand, and try dishes in the gastronomic zone of the first student restaurant “Meeting of Friends.” This was reported by the press service of the city Department of Education and Science.
“At the forum, guests will find 34 master classes covering 30 in-demand areas of training at Moscow colleges — from industry to hospitality. The program is designed for students in grades 8 to 10,” the department’s press service said.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, schoolchildren will become acquainted with in-demand professions and perform practical tasks. They will try their hand as welders, learn the basics of train operation on a simulator, learn to identify transmission faults, and fix dents on a car body.
Participants will acquire basic newborn care and first aid skills, create designer lanterns to decorate the garden, and design clothing on mannequins.
At the forum, it will be possible to purchase products of the “Made by Moscow Colleges” brand, which students produce in modern workshops and laboratories. The assortment will include T-shirts, shoppers, silk scarves, textile and printing products, shaped soap, candles, souvenirs, and household goods.
A gastronomic zone of the first restaurant of the capital’s colleges “Meeting of Friends” will also open on the site. Students studying hospitality specialties will offer baked goods, sandwiches, salads, and desserts, as well as hot and cold drinks of their own production.
Forum “Russia — My Horizons” will kick off the career guidance month. From September 7 to 30, it will bring together schoolchildren, teachers, representatives of colleges and universities, major Russian employers, and experts from different regions of the country. Participants will get acquainted with in-demand career paths and sectors of the economy, and meet with representatives of businesses and educational organizations. One of the main venues will be “Profigrad,” where the kids will be able to try out various professions.
The forum is taking place within the unified career guidance model “Ticket to the Future,” which unites over 38 thousand schools and covers 8.5 million students across the country. It includes diagnostics and professional trials that allow acquaintance with the modern labor market and promising specialties.
